Due to the current restrictions to contain Covid-19, there are only a limited number of tickets available for the castles "Neuschwanstein" and "Hohenschwangau". You should therefore be sure to purchase them online in advance at https://shop.ticket-center-hohenschwangau.de/ reserve. A small number of tickets are also available at the box office in the Ticketcenter Hohenschwangau. During the summer months, this opens at 08:00. It is recommended to be there early. Please note that tickets at the Ticketcenter can only be purchased on the day of the visit and not for subsequent days!
Whether a day or half-day tour - mountain or lake - Fuessen's surroundings offer a variety of well-signposted hiking routes.

Yes, round trips on the Forggensee take place daily from 01 June to 15 October. There is a big round trip - about 2 hours, which goes to the northern shore of the lake and back, and a small round trip - about 1 hour, in the southern part of the Forggensee.
In and around Fuessen there are a variety of leisure activities. Whether a leisurely stroll through the historic old town, a visit to the St. Mang monastery or the Fuessen Museum in the High Castle or, of course, a visit to the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau must not be missed by culturally interested guests. Active vacationers can benefit from a well-developed cycling and hiking network. Mountain tours are possible on the Tegelberg in Schwangau or Breitenberg in Pfronten. Water sports enthusiasts get their money's worth on one of the many lakes in the immediate vicinity, such as Forggensee or Hopfensee, which are of course also ideal for swimming.
In winter, winter hiking trails, various cross-country skiing trails and downhill skiing on Tegelberg are available.
